I like having the shield because it protects my back and allows me to get out of sticky situations. However, the parts for the shield are located on the Docks and the Citadel Tunnels.
We will need to open multiple doors which will require us to accumulate some points first. There are two wolf heads between the start location and the shield parts. In order to save time, it makes sense to accumulate points by killing zombies in the area of the wolf heads.
You have three limitations that can prevent you from completing objectives quickly. You have a limited amount of Afterlives, points available, and zombies. You can overcome these limitations by killing zombies in the proper areas, getting the most out of each Afterlife, and proper point budgeting.
Your objective in round one is to accumulate the maximum amount of available points for use in future rounds. You will also be picking up the M14 since it will allow you to avoid buying an expensive gun early in the game. Use your handgun to kill zombies. Shoot them five times and then stab them. Try to shoot the zombies in a line in order to save bullets. If you shoot them in a line you can shoot each zombie in the line an additional three times before stabbing them.
Your objective in round two is to continue to accumulate points while feeding the beast. As a side objective, you will also start to utilize your Afterlives. If you still have handgun rounds, shoot each zombie eight times and then stab them. If you are out of handgun rounds shoot each zombie once with the M14 and then shoot them. In this round, your objective is to accumulate the points that you will need to open doors and ride the Gondola down to the Docks.
You will also utilize your two Afterlives to power up multiple items. If the wolf in the Cell Blocks is not completely fed then make sure you finish it on this round.
Upon placing the Blundergat into the fireplace , Zombies will begin to spawn. Stay inside the house and begin to kill them and collect the essence they drop. Once all three skulls above the mantle have lit up, place the essences of the Zombies you just killed into the skulls. The fireplace will then light up blue and the Blundergat will respawn.
Before you go picking up the Blundergat , be prepared for the next step, as it will start a time trial. During this trial you will need to interact with six different barrels that are place all around the map at the following locations:. As soon as you spawn, your first goal is to turn on the power. Unlike Classified which just has one power switch, to completely turn on the power in Blood of the Dead you need to find two power switches. This will unlock the Catwalk and the path through the Recreation Yard.
Take the path down Michigan Avenue and into the Citadel, then go all the way down the spiral Citadel Tunnels. Head in to Building 64 and the second power switch is at the very back of the building.
Next, you actually need to build the Spectral Shield. Head to one of two workbenches, either by the Docks or on the Cell Block Third Floor, and interact with it to build the shield. You need to drain the souls from zombies by using your secondary attack to build up charges for the Spirit Blast. Find the Mystery Box and use it until you get a padlock.
When you do, equip your Spectral Shield and drain the life from the padlock with your key. This is where your Spectral Shield charges come in - use the Spirit Blast attack on the power gauge to the side of the machine. This will activate the Pack A Punch machine for the rest of the game so you can upgrade your weapons for 5, points.
Now you want to think about getting all three wonder weapons on the map. As you can tell by the name, it also retrieves items, which is a crucial part to completing the map. You just need to kill enough zombies by them so they snatch them in their jaws and eat them. It can be found in one of six locations:. To see it, you need to look through your Spectral Shield. This will temporarily remove the wonder weapon from your inventory.
Now you need to wait till the next hell hound round, which will spawn a Spectral Dog. Equip your Spectral Shield again and start searching the entire map for the dog. The only clue you have is that you can see the paw prints it leaves through your shield vision. When you find the Spectral Dog, shoot it with a Spirit Blast. The Spoon is a wonder weapon that replaces your melee weapon and is much more powerful than the knife… somehow.
Take note of the numbers from the closest to furthest away. Shoot it with the Spirit Blast to activate it and input the three numbers you had in order. Somehow, those three numbers will cause the enormous locked elevator to fall from where its hanging. Make your way out to the Docks and there should be a power gauge down there. Shoot it with another Spirit Blast to activate the crane.
The Spoon will fall out of the net and land on the wooden crate by the edge of the dock. For this step, you need to have already obtained the Blundergat and upgraded it to either the Magmagat or the Acidgat.
If you want an incredibly powerful melee weapon that kills zombies in one hit until round 34, upgrade the Spoon to the Golden Spork.
Place the Spoon inside then go to the roof and keep the Pack A Punch machine company for a while. With either the Magmagat or the Acidgat, you need to kill zombies on the roof. This will slowly start to fill the bathtub in the Infirmary up with blood.
Go down to the Recreation Yard and up the path to the Catwalk. Look to the enormous water tower on your right. When all four have been broken off, the water tower will crumple. Happy meleeing! Thankfully, you can also obtain the Blundergat for free. With the Spectral Shield equipped, you need to search for and hunt down five Spectral Skulls.
