What is the difference between east and west africa

The UN subregion of East Africa consists of 20 countries in the eastern part of the continent. These countries include some of the poorest nations in the world situated in the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions. Coffee, cut flowers, tea, tobacco, fish, and vegetables are the region's predominant exports. Other significant sources' country subdivsions include those arranged by the African Development Bank Group and the African Union.

Africa is the world's second largest continent in area. Growth in Central Africa is gradually recovering, but remains below the average for Africa as a whole. It is supported by recovering commodity prices and higher agricultural output. The West Africa Regional Economic Outlook calls on the region to explore innovative means of raising revenue through reforms that enhance tax collection, minimize tax evasion, and curb illicit financial flows.

Growth in Southern Africa is expected to remain moderate in and after a modest recovery in and All the regions face similar risks to their economic prospects in —20, these include rising debt, fragility, population growth and climate change. One final note - as wilderness areas are slowly being destroyed, it will only become more difficult to take advantage of what Africa has to offer.

As a general rule, dots further to the right tend to signify greater average wealth. For example, the countries with higher numbers of children per woman have that particular dot on the left hand side while those with fewer have it placed on the right. Thanks to South Africa, the southernmost region as a whole does well across most of the metrics. It has particularly high mobile phone subscription rates and the majority of its workforce employed in the service sector.
